Happy Halloween!

This is about as good as a group picture comes these days...

We had Dorothy in our midst,

and Captain Calvin with his Parrot, "Cracker",

and Sheriff Jack rounded them off.

They had a grand ol' time I'd say.  Captain Calvin was done after about 10 minutes and had much more fun passing out candy with me, Dorothy soaked up every second of the night, and Sheriff Jack attempted escape from his wagon most of the night, and succeeded in candy thieving the rest.
Good times had by all!

The night before we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Bluth's for some "pre trick-or-treating".
They loved getting their little Halloween buckets!!  And I am all for getting all the use we can out of costumes:)  Thanks for the fun night Grandma and Grandpa!!

Saturday

On our last full day we went to yet another one of my favorite spots in Logan - The American West Heritage Center.  I love this place!  So pretty, so fun, and it just kind of makes me wish I lived in the olden days...  It was a perfect Fall activity!  It had everything!  Including:

corn mazes

wagon rides

a kids candy cannon race

giant slides

and not so giant slides

gourd launching

pony rides

animal petting

and just cool historic stuff everywhere!

It was the perfect ending to a great week!  Thanks again Forbis Family for hosting our crazy troop all week!  We owe our great times to you!  xoxo

Friday

We took the kids to the Logan pumpkin walk where they just randomly happened to have a plethora of cut out picture opts.  And who am I to turn down a perfectly good chance to do that?!?
Calvin's face in the above Woody pic is just way too spot on.

Jack was the main victim of this as he has no real say of his level of embarrassment yet...
I am 90% sure that he thought the glasses were some sort of food...

We of course did not miss out on our chance.  However, I am a little disappointed in Pete that his back was showing because I am doing the most amazing back hand/feet push up in order to be in perfect lineup with my spot.  It makes me think he might not have cared as much as I...

Anyways, back to the pumpkins, it was ADORABLE!  They had tons of little scenes made up of pumpkins all over this park that you got to check out.  Some better than others... but overall it was so cute!
Paige and her "Utah Best Friend" Tacey in front of Tangled.

And this was one of my faves!  The snowman scenes from the all time classic Calvin and Hobbes was hilarious.

And that night we made SPIDERS FOR DINNER!!  Oooooooooo!
Some may have looked more like crabs than spiders but that's beside the point...
It was such a cute meal - great idea Grandma!

Thursday

We took the day to head down to Salt Lake City to meet up my little sis Meagan and her hubby Max and it was SO MUCH FUN!!  I always miss my sisters when they move away... sigh...  But it makes days like this all the more fun!

We spent the morning at the Hogle Zoo - BEST ZOO EVER!  For reals.  It was super nice, super cute, super clean (an Amy must) and the perfect size.  Had great lots of animals that you could see up close but wasn't so big that you were left wondering if it would ever be over.  Can't say enough good things about it!

The happy train riding couple.

A terrible picture of the kids on the carousel.

Jack LOVED the zoo!  He was enamored by anything moving - people not included.

Calvin showing us some wild animal tendencies.
Or just little boy tendencies - one in the same, right?

The zoo was right across the street from the "This Is The Place" monument so we took a few moments to check it out.  It was pretty cool!

Mimi was by far the most excited to be there...

 NOT SHOWN BUT VERY IMPORTANT:
We went to the very traditional all time favorite SLC CROWN BURGER!  It's been a must stop for our family since before I can remember and it sill always be until I die.  I love you Crown Burger and your giant milkshakes, crispy fries and rings, and of course, your burger that wears the crown.  Forgive me for forgetting to take a picture of you...

And after a long day on the road the kiddos got to take a luxurious bubble bath in Grandma Forbis's bubble-tub-o-rama.  Awesome.

This face cracks me up!  That silly Paiger.

Wednesday

Pete's little brother Cameron and his family bought a great new house so we took the day to help them out moving.  So exciting for them!  Little Sophie is such a doll and Paige just loves having another girl to play with!

A highlight for the kids was finding Mr. Super Fuzzy Caterpillar.

Yes, my kids are in matching Halloween clothes, it is the only time of year they can wear them so give me some slack.

And my highlight was when this little man finally passed out.
Boy, I tell yah, trips with little ones are a DOOZY!

Tuesday

Now I know it's no back East, but Logan has to be one of the most beautiful spots to spend the fall.  So on Tuesday we took some time to explore through the canyon and it was fantastic!

The crew: Uncle Dave, cuzzy Sophia, Paige, Cal, and Peter-Patrick (doing a fancy move of some sort, hehe)

 Did some rock-skipping.

I don't think Jack knew what to do in weather under 100*.
This is what real life is about little one!  Go, enjoy, live!

Did some leaf collecting through the woods.

Discovered that WalMart strollers are not designed to be taken on nature paths... sorry buddy.

And did some stick racing through the river.

Pretty sure Pete is the most excited about the race...
